: MediaTakeOut.com told you a few months back that The CW was considering dropping the hit show The Game. Well, now MediaTakeOut.com can report that it's being DROPPED!!!
According to one of MediaTakeOut.com’s snitches, the show, which was on the year for the past 3 seasons – just didn’t have good enough ratings. The series averaged 1.9 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in adults 18-34 this season.
Dang – we really hate to see it go. But gee, only 1.9 million viewers … that’s LESS THAN HALF the viewers that MediaTakeOut.com has….
Editor's Update - The CW has not put out an OFFICIAL release dropping the series. But an insider tells us that the show will no longer be on the CW after this season.

THEY PLANNED IT WELL....FIRST OFF....THEY PUT THE SHOW ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AT 8:30....KNOWING DOG GON WELL THAT FRIDAY NIGHTS ARE WHEN EVERYBODY IS OUT DOING THEY THING OR IS CHILLING....AND SECOND....THEY DONT EVEN PROMOTE IT WELL TO GET MORE AUDIENCE...EVERYBODY IN MY FAM IS HOOKED ON IT BECAUSE OF BET...THEY PROMOTE IT WELL AND HAS A GOOD TIME SCHEDULE FOR IT.....ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE NOW GETTING HOOKED ON IT BECAUSE OF BET....I THINK BET SHOULD PICK IT UP......CW SUCKS.....THEY WANNA SEE ANOTHER BLACK SHOW GO DOWN!!!
THAT'S QUITE UNFORTUNATE. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS SHOW (I WROTE INTO THE NETWORK IN ADDITION TO SIGNING THE PETITION THAT IS GOING AROUND), IT'S THE ONLY SHOW I WATCH ON THE CW.

ACTUALLY, I JUST HEARD THAT THEY MAY CONSIDER TURNING IT INTO AN HOUR DRAMA. I HOPE SO. AND FOR THOSE HATERS, IF YOU DON'T THE SHOW, DON'T WATCH IT. THIS SHOW IS ABOUT FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND THE WOMEN IN THEIR LIVES. IT DEALS WITH, LOYALTY, RELATIONSHIP ISSUES, MONEY, DRUGS AND STEREOTYPES. VERY REALISTIC!!! AND IF YOU HAVE A DRY SENSE OF HUMOR, THE SHOW MAY NOT BE FUNNY TO YOU. I'M MORE INTERESTED IN THE DRAMA, THAN COMEDY ASPECT OF THE SHOW.

I felt that the show was good and it is not suppose to give realistic views of the average black person hence the name The Game it focuses on ball players lives. And Jason was very fking cheap Malik was the only one throwing his money around. And everything in life is not a Positive experience it was not the Cosby show where you can sit and say "see kids the moral of the story is" it wasn't meant for that. It is a good show on a bad network that at one time the CW had all the black shows Half & Half, EVE, and Gilrfriends. Thoses were all good shows. I really wanted Med School and Derwin to get back together Damn shame.

Cut the budget and take it to BET!!!!! It's been performing well there. They are big enough now to go ahead and undertake a production. Of course paycuts across the board. But really it's time for BET to step up and this is the perfect oppurtunity. Stop being MTV 2 and start being black entertainment... but Viacom won't let that happen. SMH. We are damned people!!!!

I thought the show been canceled from cw already?? It still comes on BET. I actually like the show, eventhough it stereotypes black women in a negative way, and puts white/non-black women on a pedestal..ugh! Another thing...so brown and darker skinned women aren't good enough to date?! Look at the cast...smh! But I still love to watch..lol
I Love this show!...I knew it would have a following from the first time it aired....now this!....Every time you get a show with more than 2 blacks on it...they cancel it, or make it so hard for blacks to watch it (A-pollo,always came on late at night,never 8pm like "Idol")...will this behavior in Hollywood ever change?
Dam Dam Dam that show was the shizz. Pooch Hall is my baby boo. Now the only reason to watch that channel is ANTM. They are always making shows and then taking them off the air after a few episodes or a year or a few seasons. I think it is the networks fault. As The CW moves to make its full schedule free of half-hour comedies, and fill it with hour-long dramas, The Game has been considered for cancellation. However, in an attempt to save the series, Brock Akil has discussed changing the format of the show to an hour-long comedic-drama series.

I love this show. why are they doing this to us??? there is nothing on t.v. anymore. I don't know about this one. One of the writers for the game just stated on the cw blog a few weeks ago that they had been given the go ahead for season four after rumors that it was going to get cancelled. And he said that if nothing else, he knew for a fact that this season would finish and that BET would pick up the slack if they decided not to do season four afterall. Don't play like that, I love that show! Either way, as long as they finish out this season I'm good, because I am too deep into it now. lol.
I've actually been having to look at the "find shows" function on my TW Cable guide to find out when a new show was airing. I know they are looking at ratings so I do what I can to be at the tv at 8:30 on friday nights,and even if I can't watch it at the moment I leave it on the tv anyway and just dvr it to catch at another time. Another thing that blows, the show seems like it's getting shorter and shorter, like the commercials are running longer than the show itself. If they put it on VH1 on monday nights I bet everyone would catch it. lol.
The only "chick" show I remember watching faithfully was Moesha and it was recorded and mailed to me b/c we did not have UPN on our cable listing at the time. LOL!
However, I have caught a few episodes of The Game and I liked it. I was able to RELATE to it right away.

@Prinxess: I agree that most of these reality shows are a plague in terms of representing all the negative stereotypes of black women. The worst one is that show Candy Girls, I watched a few episodes when E! was running a marathon, and I had to turn it off because I was so utterly disgusted with those girls.

Author Staci Robinson is suing The CW, its owners and some producers for $40 million for allegedly stealing the concept of her novel "Interceptions" to create the sitcom "The Game," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The writer claims that in 2001, she had interviewed for a job as a writers assistant at Kelsey Grammer's Gramnet Prods. when she gave a manuscript of her novel to "Game" executive producer Mara Brock Akil. Cable television and i mean PREMIUM cable tv, is the only way to go. I don't know what the f@ck network television is anymore, you can't get too edgy on network tv which makes that sh!t GARBAGE. Now i'll admit GIRLFRIENDS was kind of good cuz it at least gave us fella's some INSIGHT on how the sista's are measuring us up. But the game had no redeeming factor for me to watch it, So i won't miss it at all if and when they give it the AXE.

This was and still is a very entertaining show.I love the characters and all the drama,some of which hits close to home for many of us. The relationships, the breakups and makeups. I will miss it ,guess ill look at re-runs. Seems there is no reason for me to watch the cw anymore. Maybe thats what they want. Well their gonna get it. C W is a loser 10 times over.
