I was saying that some of them shave their head about a inch two inches for the full lace front wigs to look natural.
Of course when you stop doing that the hair will grow back looking uneven.

I've seen females with full bags of weave on their heads. They can't even scratch their scalp and walk around patting their weaves or using a pen to itch it. It's crazy.
Weaves be hot.
And black women can grow their out just like any other race of women. Weaves aren't a necessity. My solution is to grow out your natural hair, but if you don't want to (although a texturizer damages your scalp) it's the lesser of the evils. For anyone who feels black women wear weave because their own hair can't grow, that's not necessarily true. Go to the Dominicans on a consistent basis and see how your hair will grow real long. Although, again, it's not the best solution as they blow dry your hair using the highest heat settings that is damaging to it.
All I'm saying is...although not the BEST solution, there are other ways for blacks to have longer hair and rebuke the weave.

@hard2get757 I agree weave is cool to rock sometimes...I'm no stranger to it, I've done it myself...it's good to use it if you are trying to keep heat off your hair daily...however what I have a problem with is that the media holds that chick up like she is supposed to be some standard of beauty for Black women, when in actuality, she don't want to be Black...she's not comfortable in her own skin...it's just not the hair either...she don't even rock her own natural eyes...I've seen photos of her with every eye color in the spectrum...young Black girls today have a distorted image of "Black Beauty", thanks to Hollywood and their perception of what "Black Beauty" should be...Black women are naturally beautiful...we don't require alot...but because other cultures do...they have led some of us to believe that they too need a whole lot of non-sensical bullshyt to be beautiful, and that is soooo not the case with sistas...we don't need plastic surgery because our skin is protected due to the melanin in our skin..."Black does not crack"...we don't need a plastic surgery lift, for "this or that", we have natural curves etc...and the list goes on our beauty is limitless...I was just saying that Naomi ain't no true beauty..."powder and paint will make you what you ain't"...

We were talking about hair.I told her it didnt make sense that people get relaxers but when their hair is wet it goes back tight curly, so you can't swim, get caught in the rain take freaky shower with your man,lol. Then relaxers thin hair out and if you dont take care of touchups in time it'll break off. Too much maintenance.
She told me that my hair grows fast and I dont have to worry about relaxers. I told her it only appears to grow fast because of my looser texture if she let the relaxers go it'll produce a healthy scalp which will allow healthier hair which she is finding out for herself!! Eating healthy is good also and braids(for me anyways) does wonders in growing my hair.
She just straightens it now if she wants the relaxed look now. If she wants a longer look she gets a sew in.
I am not surprised that she finally would have breakage to her hair, Naomi,you need to throw out your horse hair, pay a visit down to WalGreens and buy a jar of Sulfur-8.that would grow your hair in and also cure you of any dandruff. Or you can swallow your pride and shave it all off and rock the Amber Rose. You got a pretty face,I think that your new look could inspire more black women to toss out their weaves.You could start a new fashion trend among hair,Girl!

I switch up from time to time as not to have my hair used to things. So this is what I do:
I will condition my hair with Tui Hair Smoothie and leave it in for like an hour under a cap. Or I'll sit under a dryer.
Wash it with Tui Herbal Shampoo. I do this as not to strip all the minerals out. If you want to make your own at home----"baking soda" shampoo (a tablespoon w/water)
Grease my scalp and massage my hair, but you can't do it too much as it will CLOG your scalp and STUNT the growth.
Finally sit and sing while twisting my hair.
If it tangles, comb the "knots" out in the shower. Again, use the Tui Hair Smoothie.
@Conscious1-Ive heard of Carol's daughter, never used it tho.
I just wash my hair with either creme of nature or noodle head shampoo then condition it with cream of nature or noodle head.
For some reason for me I cant use the suggested shampoo and conditioner with each other I always have to switch it with something else.If I want it natural I use some noodle head styling creme but if I want it straight I put parvenu leave in conditioner I just use the john freida wind down creme and then flat iron it.I dont grease my scalp but if my hair is dry I'll put some moisturizer on it.
I dont know what my friend uses tho.

Yeah, the ladies who mention the lace front earlier are right. The beautician who puts the lace front in will most likely shave your sides off, and put glue on your sides so it will be easier for the lace front to lie flat. Trust, it's not only Naomi Campbell walking around with disappearing edges, your girl B, Ciara, Tyra and all of them have the same problem. The only difference they have a team of stylists that won't let them walk out the door like that.

This is why i've never done wigs, weaves, etc... i have been transitioning out of my perm since may of last yr and my hair is much healthier and grows quicker. If you ladies are interested in going natural and want to look really good products try hairveda.com and shescentit.com...they are inexpensive and natural products. I also get alot of information at longhaircareforum.com and most of the women there are natural and have tips and so on for caring for it. Oh and if you want to flat iron your hair go to whole foods and get a jar of alaffia unscented unrefined shea butter ($10) i melt it and apply it lightly to my ends every other day...locks in the mositure and helps retain length. Okay i'm done now
I don't know what it is she never wears lace fronts because it would cover her hair line, and you wouldn't be able to see that mess. And if you let your beautician take your weave out your hair will be fine. chicks walk around will no edges from ripping there weaves out and not giving their hair a break.
I'm tired of ppl saying only black woman wear weaves and wigs because it's not true. Woman of all races wear weaves and wigs. Hell my beautician has just as many white girls and hispanic girls as clients getting weaves as blacks. It's funny because you will walk in seeing a white girl getting a weave while a black girl will be getting her own hair washed and set.

Thanks for the site. I usually just wear my hair curly cuz that's all I know,lol. But if I'm planning a shoot I'll get a sew in so I wont have to worry about ruining my hair with heat, spritz and what not. Also wear my turban sometimes.Which I love to do but I can't curse or drink alcohol in it so you wont see me wearing it at the club,lol. :)
I wanna do locs but Ima think about trying them when I'm older and settled tho. I think they are so beautiful. They compliment alot of people's aura.
