Beyonce should thank her co-stars. Ali brought her fanbase and so so did idris (who is a dope british actor). They gave the film some credibility.
If she had co-starred with two unknowns it would be a far different story. The film can also thank scorned women (Women who have been cheated on of all races) or women who have problems with interacial dating. I personally don't care who the next man is dating nor does it offend me but I know it's understandably a sensitive area for some sistas so with that said many viewers wanted to see a blonde chick get a beatdown. I'll pass and wait for Wolverine next week.

This movie had great potential - it could've been a spring banger if beyonce stayed out the movie and stay behind the scenes as a producer and had a more experience actress in the lead. You can always tell how good a film is by the drop off in the second week. If it's a high drop off then word of mouth got around and it was horrible. If it's a low drop off then it got pretty decent word of mouth.

Blair Witch was considered a hit not because of the money it made compared to bigger name movies, but because of the profit it made compared to what it cost to film. How much did this movie cost to make? After you know that, then you will know if it was a hit. Maybe it could be a one weekend hit wonder. Tyler Perry reels in big money too, because the PREVIEWS of his movies make the movie look good. Those lame movies like 'Scary Movie' aren't that great, but they gross the money because we see blacks and we want to support that. This movie with Beyonce is nothing original. Fatal Attraction, Sleeping With The Enemy, etc. Pretty much the same script...just a different cast.

This movie opened relatively big because people have convinced themselves that it's great campy fun. Meaning, it isn't being treated as a serious thriller, but instead one of those B movies that are sooo bad they're highly entertaining. People are saying "you'll never laugh so hard"...basically, it's being treated as if Beyonce, Idris and Ali had made one of those movie spoofs like "Date Movie" but tackled movies with this theme. Critics are saying it succeeds at being "so bad it's fun" because it was unintentional...which means, basically, she's being mocked.

Okay, I went to actually see the movie and in my personal opinion the acting was not that great. I think this movie will eventually be a lifetime movie because it fits within the context of movies that are commonly played on lifetime. I don't think people should be criticized for giving their honest opinion either. So, the movie wasn't my cup tea. My man looked very sexy in the movie!!!!!
The movie script lacked the proper climax and it was so predictable. It would have been a little better if it included a little bit more suspense it seemed liked a cheap version of fatal attraction. This movie is not even perplexing enough to keep anyone attention because it lacks enthusiasm and thrill. Not only that, this basic plot for a movie has been play over and over again but, most scripts have add more twist and turns to the climax. This movie won't even get nominated for an Oscar.

We all know the bulk of Beyonce Stans are dim-witted females/gays who lack self-esteem and want to live vicariously through the person they wished they could be/look like.

I saw the movie last night and let me....well...Okay, I must say I hate that people hate on Beyonce, she's obviously talented in several avenues, but I have to be honest here, and as much as it pains me to say this BEYONCE CANNOT ACT!!! I was really hoping to come from this movie and be like Okay FINALLY, she got the acting together, but sadly I couldn't do that. What's worse is that someone around her keeps telling her she can act, or she reads her fans reviews and thinks she doing good or something so she’s not working on her craft the way she should. The Name Beyonce has that "bring in the dough" call, so I believe that because she was in this movie it got more people out to see it, otherwise it would have flew under the radar, but damn they could have got dang near anyone else to play the role and made this movie 10x's better. Beyonce needs to get a really good acting coach and even if she doesn't have a movie role she's working on, or about to pursue, she needs to practice practice practice!!! I was so disappointed in her acting last night while I was watching the movie, and her voice is terrible, I've never in my life seen someone with such a strong southern accent that has toured the world, and had speech coaches and STILL can't get rid of that country accent for a MOVIE! I'm not saying stop being who she is, but damn, she just cannot speak, she sounds a mess, which wouldn’t be as big of a problem if she wasn’t trying to land movie roles. A great ensemble cast usually makes the lesser actor/actress look a bit better, I think that helps her a bit, but she’s never going to get that glory I can tell she was looking for with “Dream Girls”, and “Cadillac Records”, until she prefects her craft. She's obviously smart, and successful, she can do it, she just needs to get to it for real, because right now she doesn’t have it as an actress!

Broker Derek (Idris Elba) and his wife Sharon (Beyonc¨¦ Knowles) are so utterly blissful ¡ª what with his recent promotion, their new home and beautiful baby, her plans to go back to college ¡ª that you just know they¡¯re not going to make it past the opening credits without something really terrible happening.
That something is Lisa (Ali Larter), a temp who immediately sets her line for Derek, wife or no wife. With a combination of tears, booze, a mix CD and some PG-13 thigh flashing, Lisa worms her way into his confidence. But when Lisa puts the make on Derek in the men¡¯s room at the boozy office Christmas party, then shows up in his car sporting lingerie and fishnets, he realizes things have gone too far.

Unfortunately, he hasn¡¯t been talking to his wife about all this. Sharon, naturally, has suspicions about Lisa from the moment she sees her; it turns out Sharon was Derek¡¯s assistant before they married, and she wisely made a rule that henceforth he work with men only. So when Lisa turns up at a corporate retreat and slips Derek a roofie and then, after he forcefully rejects her, overdoses on sleeping pills while naked in his bed, Sharon doesn¡¯t take things so well.
The couple finally makes up, but Lisa¡¯s not through with her plans just yet, which leads to the much-publicized ¡°I¡¯ll SHOW you CRAZY!¡± throwdown between the two women.
Screenwriter David Loughery previously gave us the overcooked ¡°Lakeview Terrace,¡± but while that film centered around issues of mixed-race relationships, the fact that Derek and Sharon are African-American while Lisa is white is never once mentioned in the film. That aspect does provide an unspoken subtext to Sharon¡¯s defense of her marriage against the ¡°skinny-ass¡± interloper.

Larter¡¯s character seems like an amalgam of all the femmes fatales from the Michael Douglas Sexual Panic Trilogy: Lisa temporarily outsmarts the cops like Sharon Stone in ¡°Basic Instinct,¡± and she works office minx-iness and reverse sexual discrimination like Demi Moore in ¡°Disclosure.¡± But she¡¯s mainly working the ¡°Fatal Attraction¡± vibe with the suicide attempt and child-napping and home invasion-ing.
Not that ¡°Obsessed¡± has the cultural vibe of that earlier thriller; as queer Canadian filmmaker Bruce LaBruce noted recently on Twitter, ¡°If Glenn Close played AIDS in ¡®Fatal Attraction,¡¯ what¡¯s the white woman in Beyonc¨¦¡¯s ¡®Obsessed¡¯ playing? Colonialism? Bats--t [EXPLETIVE] insanity?¡±

Lisa¡¯s pretty much just there to make the audience hate her more and more so that we¡¯ll cheer when Sharon finally beats the crap out of her. And darned if it doesn¡¯t work, albeit perhaps not in the way that the filmmakers intended. Director Steve Shill keeps things restrained up until that final fracas, leading one to suspect he wasn¡¯t intending to make an over-the-top campy melodrama.

But that¡¯s what great about camp ¡ª it only works if it¡¯s unintentional on the part of the creators. So thanks for the laughs, you cast and crew members of ¡°Obsessed¡±; don¡¯t be surprised if this film winds on the midnight movie circuit, with drag queens impersonating Beyonc¨¦ and Ali Larter and tearing each other¡¯s wigs off in front of the screen.

MTO, you did not promote this movie. The clips on TV are how I learned about this movie. I haven't seen it yet but it looks pretty good. I hope someone puts a review on here because I don't want to see a dud.
