@jalta920 too bad for you boo boo.
keely-jai Flag post y cant they have sample sales in houston! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Because most designer's wearhouses and showrooms are in New York. Samle sales and trunk shows come from after the orders have been placed with boutiques and departments stores, or certain styles have been discontinued for manufacturing.
Just like NYC, Los Angeles usually has sample sales and trunk shows as well. Most shows will at least have trunk shows, but most are exclusive for an upscale clientele.
This sale is the truth. Its listed in the New York Shopping online paper. The Metropolitan Pavillian is always renting space for sample sales. About 2 weeks ago they had an Ed Harding, True Religion sample sale. I know, I was there. 18th street between 6th and 7th is the sample sale location. It's been this way for years

Although sample sales don't really have anything to do with the economy in general, that may as well be the case here for the $75 price. Since over the last few quarters and the last holiday season retail sales didn't do so well, the boutiques didn't place many orders with the fashon houses, resulting with designers with inventory they can't use.
Sample sales are ongoing, this is nothing new to REAL FASHIONISTAS! Most stores like Bloomies, Barney's and Neiman's have these sales often (several times a year) because of the relationships they have with their clients/retail customers.
