: MediaTakeOut.com has some sad news for you. Yesterday, Atlanta rapper Dolla, real name Roderick Anthony Burton, was shot and killed while at the Los Angeles Beverley Center.
Here’s what happened. MediaTakeOut.com learned that Dolla and a friend were just minding their business shopping in the popular Los Angeles mall when someone ran up on him and shot him in the head. He dies immediately.
The shooter then fled the scene of the crime. But MediaTakeOut.com learned that yesterday evening police picked up a 20 year old suspect trying to flee at Los Angeles airport. The suspect, named Aubery Berry, was found carrying a 9mm handgun – the same caliber as the gun that killed Dolla.
No word yet on why Dolla was shot.

Two suspects are believed to have fled the scene after the Beverly Center shooting. Witnesses have stated that they saw a female fire shots during the shooting. Later that afternoon, LAPD captured a "person of interest" connected with the case who was attempting to board a plane at LAX airport. TMZ is reporting that the suspect is 20-year-old Aubery Berry.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear. According to Dolla's publicist, the rapper may have gotten into a dispute with someone at the airport, who later followed him to the mall.

Actually, someone did not just run up and shoot him. Dolla, his people, and the cat Aubrey and his people were arguing in the valet area. Some "witnesses" say it was a female who was shooting. Other reports state that this carried over from an argument on the plane when Dolla flew from Atlanta to here. Sad situation nontheless.

Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head about 3:10 p.m. at the Beverly Center. Police later detained a person at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Dolla, who was based in Atlanta, Georgia, was in Los Angeles recording his debut album. He caught the attention of multiplatinium R&B singer Akon when the then-12-year-old Dolla was performing with friends at showcases around Atlanta.
The two collaborated on Dolla's first single, "Who the F--- Is That?" which also featured another high-profile singer, T-Pain.
Another Dolla song, "Feelin' Myself," appeared on the soundtrack to the 2006 movie "Step Up." Dolla was born in Chicago, Illinois. His twin sister died at birth because of complications from an enlarged heart.
The family moved to Atlanta after Dolla's father committed suicide while he, then 5, and another sister watched from their parents' bed.
Dolla began composing rhymes in elementary school and decided to pursue a career in music.
Funeral services, which will be held in Atlanta, will be announced later.
The man police arrested at LAX yesterday after the shooting death of rapper Dolla has been booked for murder.
23-year-old Aubrey Berry was booked early this morning and his bail was set at $1,000,000.
Cops say two other "persons of interest" -- who were allegedly at the airport with Berry at the time of the shooting -- are being questioned.

LOS ANGELES -- A Georgia man has been arrested in the murder of up-and-coming rapper "Dolla" at the Beverly Center shopping mall.
The 21-year-old rapper "Dolla," born Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot and killed Monday afternoon as he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, were waiting at the valet stand after a shopping trip, according to Burton's publicist Sue Vannasing.
Vannasing said he was shot in the head.
LAPD Sgt. Ronnie Crump confirmed the victim was shot about 3:15 p.m. on the ground floor of the mall. Nearby diners dove for cover when the shots rang out.
Burton arrived at LAX from Atlanta earlier in the day and went to the Beverly Center to do some shopping, Vannasing said. Burton apparently had a dispute with some people, perhaps at the airport, she added.
"They followed him to the mall because they knew he was coming," Vannasing said. Los Angeles police officials could not immediately confirm or deny that account.
Burton was rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center where he died of his wounds.
Los Angeles police said in a statement Tuesday that 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry of Georgia was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday night. His bail was set at $1 million.
Berry was found at the ticket counter at Terminal 1.
"The suspect was detained without incident [and] discovered to be armed," said Los Angeles World Airports spokeswoman Nancy Castles. Police said they recovered a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun from the suspect.
A silver Mercedes, thought to be the suspect's getaway car, was later found in an airport parking lot. Police were investigating whether Berry was trying to board a flight out of Los Angeles.
Burton is best known for his work on the soundtrack for the 2006 dance film "Step Up" and for the two singles released with the singer Akon: "Like This" and "She So Fine."
Burton was an up-and-coming rapper who had recorded several singles. He was in town to work on his first album, slated to be released this summer on Jive Records, Vannasing said.
His first single, released in 2007, was "Who the [Expletive] is that?"
He was born in Chicago in 1988 and moved with his family to the Los Angeles area and then to Atlanta, according to a biography on his MySpace.com page.
The biography said he lived a life full of misfortune, witnessing his father commit suicide at age 5 and turning to crime to support his family at age 10. He began rapping as 12, and formed a group called Da Razkals Cru, according to the biography.

I am not justifying what the shooter did. What I said was ignorant people will take small things as disrespect and take your life. I don't know where you live, but you just can't say what you want to, wear certain clothes, and hang anywhere you want to in L.A. or other places as a matter of fact. Police believe Dolla, 21, was involved in an altercation at the mall before the shooting, which reportedly sent nearby restaurant patrons diving for cover. The rapper was taken to taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he died.
Vannasing told latimes.com that Dolla also was involved in an altercation on a flight from Atlanta to L.A., but it was not clear whether the run-in with passengers on the flight was related to the shooting.
I certainly don't want to disrespect the dead and their family and loved ones, and I am really disappointed when this kind of thing happens, but I kinda feel the need to point out to those people saying that an innocent person lost their life; you don't get a tear drop on your face as the badge for the last phase of the boyscouts. "Atlanta rapper Dolla, aka Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot dead at the Beverly Hills Center. Dolla’s publicist, Sue Vannasing, confirmed Dolla was dead. Vannasing said Dolla was shot in the head around 3:10 p.m. Dolla and another rapper, DJ Shabbazz, waited in the valet area outside Beverly Hill Center.
Dolla was said to have some kind of argument with some passengers flying into LA from Atlanta. There were no details on whether this incident had anything to do with Dolla’s shooting death."
The valet attendant said they saw a woman pull the trigger, so he may have been cheating or something. I know people who know him, and from what I remember, he is married and the girl has a child. Im not sure if the child is his because the lady is hispanic and the boy look like the lady, but he is married from what I remember. He is only like 21-23 years old.
Well the police may not know the reason, but there has to be one. No one runs up on someone, shoots them in head - execution style for no reason. But of course, considering the fool who shot him tried to bring a gun on the plane at LAX (one of the biggest airports in USA), you never know. He could of shot the wrong person because obviously - he's not working with a full deck.

What if it was some1 you loved, would it feel good if you came across something/someone disrepecting someone you've loss?
