Oh hellll, here we go AGAIN! Some of y'all are just so irreparably IGNORANT. Taye and Idina have been together since some of you were in kindergarten and that they have been able to weather a marriage while being caught up in the 'biz is a true testament to their love and commitment. They deserve this happiness and I wish them all the best. They are going to make great parents just as they've made a great couple. I admire how classy and grounded they are; Lord knows how rare that is in most relationships!!!!

These Lame "SISTAS" on MTO NEVER cease to amaze me... I would never date a black woman who is not secure within herself... Which is about 80% of you. Their relationship seems very genuine and real. They met as amateur theater actors and came up together in the theater industry, although Taye got some Hollywood credentials as well in the process. And they been together for so long, finally got married and really enjoyed that Honeymoon phase before deciding to expand the family. They seem like they planned it out well.
@MzArrogance, "He was broke when they married." He might have been broke when they started dating in 1996 but not when they married in 2003. Taye made "Stella," his biggest movie, in 1998. Do you think so many black women would have flocked to that movie if he were married to a white woman? Hell no. He made "The Wood" and "Best Man" in the late '90s. Ever since he married her his career has nosedived. "Kevin Hill" got canceled, as did "Day Break" in season one. Most of his fans were black women and gay black men. Never forget where your bread is buttered. Guess he'll be a stay-at-home dad.
And Idina Menzel is NOT a Latina, though she doesn't seem to mind if people think that because I guess she thinks it helps her get more roles. She is a regular Jewish girl from Long Island who changed her name from Mentzel.
Most dark-skinned male celebrities marry white women because they have hang-ups about their complexion. I'm not dark-skinned and haven't been in his shoes, so I won't judge. But it seems kinda pathetic to me that black folk still have issues like this in the 21st century.
Alot of you black women talk about how a black man is a sellout if he gets with a white girl, and that he has issues with his own race, and the color of his skin, and blah blah.. But the truth is.. It's really black women who has an issue with the color of their skin, issues with being black, you're VERY insecure, jealous of other races of women (mainly white women), Everything you complain about black men is really your issues. I don't understand all the Idina and Taye hate. They have been together for almost 14 years. They dated 7 years before they married. And they were married 6 years before they had a child. They focused on their careers and their marriage and made it through the good and the bad. Seems like a refreshing method from the rest of Hollywood.
Congrats to them and their expanding family. They look thrilled. Very happy for them.
Also, Idina is a very successful artist in her own right. She is extremely well known on Broadway (She won a Tony Award!) and has done TV, film, released 3 albums, had a pretty successful tour, hell even had her own PBS special...
It isn't like she is some floozy who he met and hooked up with once he got famous. She was by his side before you even knew who Taye Diggs was. Hell one could even argue she is MORE successful (and certainly more talented) than he is. He is just more well known due to his Hollywood connection.
