The only problem I had with "Black in America" was that they addressed a number of issues but that was it. It left me feeling like, "ok, so whats the solution?" In "Latin in America", I felt like they tried to be too PC and avoid the real question: how long are we to acommodate spanish-language speakers in a country where english is the chosen language? I grew up in SoCal and have literally watched it turn from a very diverse area to, well, frankly put, Mexico! Black people, we need to step up!! I'm relearning spanish just to compete in the job market and I dont even live in CA anymore!!

Dr. Henry Gates of Harvard did a study of the genetic makeup of African Americans and they didn't find a single African American (no matter how dark they were) that weren't mixed with white genes. The genetic purity train left the station once the slavemasters started raping the female slaves. Can the same be said in reverse? No! If she said she was white, then EVERYONE would look at her like she was crazy. On both sides, black and white. Therefore it’s ridiculous to say she is black. She is biracial which is not a bad thing, but it’s NOT BLACK! There is nothing wrong with being multi racial and embracing your many cultures but DON’T ignore that being many cultures is different from being one culture. In reality being biracial is VERY different from being Black; your life in America is different. There are some positives and negatives to being biracial but these differences exist none the less.

You can't be serious. I know Marvin Gaye sang "Let's Get It On" and "Sexual Healing", but he also sang "Mercy, Mercy Me" and "What's Going On".I can't even list all the socially conscious songs that Stevie Wonder wrote because the list is too long. I think Soledad is an outstanding journalist, despite the different ethnicities running through her blood, and if you aren't certain of a person or question his/her' origin, then why not research on that person before you decide to past judgment on someone.
