: MediaTakeOut.com just received word from boxer Floyd's people that Manny Pacquaio is REFUSING to take a steroids test before his fight with Floyd Mayweather.
Here's what we were told by Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions:
[Manny's promoter] told me that Pacquiao has difficulty with taking blood and doesn't want to do it so close to the fight. He, Pacquiao, would only agree to have blood drawn before the kick-off press conference and after the fight . . .And Floyd is speaking out too, here’s what he told us:It is unfortunate to hear this from Manny Pacquiao's representatives, particularly since, as of today, both parties had worked out all other issues related to this fight . . .
Team Mayweather is certainly surprised that an elite athlete like Manny Pacquiao would refuse drug testing procedures which Floyd has already agreed to and have been agreed to by many other top athletes such as Lance Armstrong, and Olympians Michael Phelps, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
I understand Pacquiao not liking having his blood taken, because frankly I don't know anyone who really does . . . But in a fight of this magnitude, I think it is our responsibility to subject ourselves to sportsmanship at the highest level.We're starting to wonder about this Pacquaio mess . . .I have already agreed to the testing and it is a shame that he is not willing to do the same. It leaves me with great doubt as to the level of fairness I would be facing in the ring that night.
I hope that this is either some miscommunication or that Manny will change his mind and step up and allow these tests, which were good enough for all these other great athletes, to be performed by USADA.
Why would say Manny is cheating because he doesn't want the test. If you do your stupid. Professional Boxing randomly tests its boxers urine randomly all throughout the time between when they train and up until the day of the fight, he has never not passed a test.
If you were smart you would see that Flloyd probably doesn't really want this fight, he knows Manny doesn't like needles. If Flloyd was a real man he would say aiight lets forget about and just get the fight done, but he hasn't, sounds like he is the one that is skurred!
I'm a firm believer that most if not all of these pro athletes take some sort of enhancement performance drugs/supplements @ some point of their career...these ppl are human not machines so some times they'll eventually seek a boost! just saying...U.S.A's trip tho,always trying to maintain this conservative,squeaky-clean image in religion,sports,the media & politics but is one of the grimiest countries that know every trick in the book
Wow, the stuff MTO leaves out never ceases to amaze me. Paq has never failed a drug test and has been tested after every title fight in his career, including his last 5. He never agrees to having blood drawn BEFORE a fight because it effects his performance. He has no problem with hair and urine testing before fights. Think of the last time you gave blood, some people react differently when having blood drawn. Some are fine, some pass out, some throw up. When my sister gives blood it takes her about 48 hours to get right.

Manny is not on any drugs! Whoever thinks that Asians are weird… Go jump in a lake. Floyd can get it! Did anyone ask Floyd to take a test when he was on a roll? NO!!! As long as he follows the rules of the Commissioners then that's all he needs to do. I would love to see that fight but really Manny does not really need this fight! haha floyd going get knocked you people must know nothing about boxing. floyd asking for that test early to check if he juices in the beginning of his training. mayweather is smart to do that. mayweather has better defense than pacman. plus manny will not be able to pressure floyd without the jab. manny does not like to jab it's not his best punch
olympic testing is more than just a finger prick. it means having blood drawn and for an athlete in training and trying to make weight that's just unsafe. all those other elite athletes that they mentioned did not have those circumstances. check a reputable news source before you read or comment on MTO stories.

@DCstillhere, he's already agreed to urine testing 24/7 and blood testing after the fight. and its unsafe for the circumstance, a doctor would advise against giving blood 48 hrs before that fight considering that's not Manny's natural weight so that would be the same day they would be doin extra cardio for final weigh ins, and that's not just cause I think Floyds gonna get molly-whopped cause its not advisable for either of them

@chi-hop during that cotto fight it was a little fixed because they never let cotto fight in the clinch. where manny's speed would have not been a factor anytime cotto was about to clinch. the ref jumpe d in between them like his mama was out there. the only way cotto was allowed to come at manny was if manny had his gloves up and cotto had his gloves up once cotto went fro that wrap. The olympic style testing MAYWEATHERs CAMP choose could have testing up and INCLUDING the DAY of the fight and that is what Pacquaio is saying No to not the testing itself.
