@fabulousweetie I do agree what sometimes we(america) sticks it's nose where it doesn't belong, but I see no harm in helping another country. Yet it doesn't change that there are people here that need much help...we have entirely too many homeless people here.
@nubian I didn't watch the telethon...I really wish I could go there myself and do something myself....we still have people in New Orleans living in trailers. Do you know if everyone was able to find out where are they're loved ones. Because that's why they are stopping the adoptions in Haiti to make contact w/next of kin.

It was a great thing to see everyone pulling togetehr to HELP instead of hate.
Mary J and JHud were the most inspiring of the night w/ their soulful renditions. Justin and that anonymous dude sounded beautiful. Xtina was good but not on her A game. Madonna was off key and the choir outdid her. Beyonce's voice was almost flawless but her choice of singing Halo was just annoying and when she replaced "baby" w/ Haiti I almost fell off my chair from laughter. It was abit self-serving like she's trying to get her song to be an anthem or something.

I MUST post on this topic! It is not anyboy's place to judge the hearts and intentions of others. these celebrities are JUST ppl. They are giving what they have (influence) to help a good cause. Doctors are going to treat, firefighters are rescuing ppl, teachers are going to take care of kids. Let the artists use their talents to do the same. Why are we judging them anyway? They are giving their time. Anything that anybody does to help in this crisis is just out of the goodness of their own heart. Lets stop judging and over analyzing things. Those ppl need help. Give it!
I feel the last thing any of those celebrities should have did was jump on stage to "encourage" others to come out of their pockets. Wyclef was scooping up slabs of bodies in Haiti, Anderson Cooper was over there saving ppl from bein attacked, hell, even Usher was down in Katrina building homes with his BARE HANDS. Prime example of OTHER ways celebrities can give back rather than jump on a stage! I donated before they decided to organize a "TELETHON" nor did I even watch the show, so I will still do my part regardless. I caught a glimpse of Rihanna in "hoe attire"...speechless.
EVERY little bit helps. Again it is not anyone's place to judge what one person does to help. We dont know what othere things these artists have done in the relief efforts. Everybody CANNOT go over there. It wouldnt be beneficial to have just a random number of untrained cilvillians in a seizmically active area. So ppl do other things to help

The mass majority of us cannot afford to run across seas and physically tend to victims of disaster. Celebs, on the other hand, can afford to create other ways to give back. Hell, OPRAH built a whole damn school in Africa..Not saying celebs should just pack up and run into highly concentrated areas of danger where diasters occurred, but create other ways..organize a food drive..something ELSE!

As a Katrina victim, I understand what some of u r sayin about donating money, when u volunteer with time n ur bare hands, there is no question about where da money is goin. However it is hard to get in and out of an area with total devastation, so sometimes all u can do is give money n pray it goes to good us. Wyclef has always done for his country y would he betray them now. I'd give to him before I'd give it to da red cross, redcross has good intentions but not closely watched. Trust me on this
someone commented saying that rihanna was not needed in her performance, but really how could u tell???? with her shouting over the guy, i could barely hear him singing.................but through straining my ears, i could hear the guy a little and he sounded great from the bits of him i heard, so i guess if u could actually hear him properly,u would have to say that he out sang her making her presence unnecessary.......i think the concert was a good thing but some ppl think there is dishonesty behind it......i hope thats not true because that would really be shameful

All of the songs were horrible. I could have slit my wrists during any of the performances. How is singing dreary songs going to give someone hope!. They should have invited a few christian artists to uplift the place and to let the Hatian people know that God is still in charge and he did not, and will not forsake them.

Me & sum ov my choir members were blessed to be chosen, as well as sum kids from another choir, to be the choir that sunq behind madonna. It waz a qreat experience for a qreat cause. We met Bill Clinton, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, and Wyclef. We had so much fun toqether. If i cud i would do it aqaiin in a heartbeat !! God bless haiti.
