: MediaTakeOut.com learned that a A senior nurse at Haifa’s Bnei Zion Medical Center’s neonatal unit was photographed with a premature baby girl in her pocket. The nurse reportedly took the photo as a PRANK, and planned on putting it up on her Facebook Page.
Here's how a local newspaper is reporting the OUTRAGE in the medical community over the images:
Oren Malberger, head of Lahav, the Israeli preemie association, was appalled by the photo: “This is outrageous and something must be done,” he told Ynet. “The neonatal unit at Bnei Zion is a reputable one, but this incident demonstrates, once again, the grave shortage of personnel in such units, which sometimes results in hospitals having to hire people who fail to meet the high standards required of neonatal professionals. Nevertheless, we are sure the hospital will handle the incident in the proper manner.” Ilana Cohen, head of the Israeli Nurses Union, was equally horrified: “Never, in all my years of nursing, have I seen such a thing. It’s absolutely horrible. They could have used a doll.”
This right here is ridiculous! Po Baby! First of babies, esp. premies have difficulty regulating their own body temps, hence the need for an incubator! Both of my daughters were born preemie. The babies are in the incubator for a fcuking reason, to help maintain temp and to keep germs away from them so they won't get sick from other visitors or whatnot. Had this been my child in her pocket, ida slapped the *** out of her and sued the hospital. Its a *** shame that we can't even trust hospital staff anymore. Me and my husband are through having babies.

As a RN this is appalling...to the person who commented that they've seen nurses carrying babies like ***, that is acceptable...its called a football hold and babies like it. Mothers who breastfeed also use this hold to support the baby's whole body, so that's not a problem...putting a Preemie in ur pocket, however, is unacceptable and the sad part is that this nurse will lose her license because of confidentiality, not the harm she could've caused the baby
