Secondly, I'm so tired of people bringing race into this issue. There is nothing wrong with adopting a child from a different cultural background or ethinicity.I have an adopted cousin who is Mexican, and we love her the same. Besides, that's her choice. Most importantly, this baby is domestic, he is a New Orleans native. She gets mad kudos for adopting in country. Stop being so ethnocentric and open ur damn eyes. It's f**king 2010 people! lol

Going through adoption the legal way takes that long. Sometimes longer than that --------------- I believe you my grandmother adopted several kids when I was younger and they were her foster kids first so the process may take a while. But here is one of my thoughts for all to think about. (just think about it) I know I sound harsh but if she went through this four years ago and her hubby is racist then she may have talked him into it for image. Ok MTO fact check, she did not adopt the baby a few days ago! The adoption process sometimes takes years even for the rich and famous! She adopted her son with Jesse in January and is now deciding to raise him as a single parent! Jesse is disgusting and I'm so glad he was exposed and she was strong enough to file for divorce!

Children of any color should go to a loving home. There is no doubt about that. I'm glad too that he is an American child and that Sandra and Jesse had to go through the usual adoption process for this child. No celeb treatment.

It seems to me that within a four year adoption process the extended family of the people who want to adopt would be questioned also. If TMZ found Jesse's family and found out this info, then the adoption agency could have too.

No doubt there's probably a self indulgent aspect to some celeberities adopting "black" babies. They seem to go for the most desperate and poor as a way to inflate their own ego as saviors and to alleviate some guilt they must feel from their fame/fortune. As far as the average white person, money would most certainly be factor; there's a big difference between $4000 for a black baby and $35000 for a white baby. This is a tough one. One one hand I wish more Black professionals adopted children. There are so many kids out there in need and it would be great if we embraced those kids. Unfortunately, not enough of us do, and there are a lot of unwanted kids. My younger sister is a social worker and she talks about what kids in foster care go through..its not pretty. So I would rather see a child with a loving, supportive (the key) white parent, than being passed from foster home to foster home, some of which are abusive.

Our culture is whatever we create. Culture comes from values and tradition, not surprised you asked because most blacks have no values. As far as traditions go, if they had them they wouldn't know it or respect it. My father is west indian, and I was raised in a west indian house hold, most of my "culture" and tradition comes from what he has provided. Honor, responsibility, pride, charity. I come from people that have sacrificed a lot to come to america and prosper. My father got mad kids and as taken care of every last one. Always kept a job, always pushed us to put education first...

I have no problem with whites adopting black kids... I am confused as to why, everyone is saying the baby was given away or the mother did not want him? Tragedy happens everyday the mother may have died during child bearing or a car accident on some other unforeseen coincidence.
