: Remember last year when MediaTakeOut.com told you about an Atlanta rapper named Dolla who was signed to Akon’s label that was SHOT and KILLED inside a Los Angeles mall.
Well here’s how it all popped off. Dolla was in L.A. with some of his boys and they got into it with some local goons. They all started fighting and all of a sudden one of the LA dudes named Aubrey Louis Berry, pulled out a gun and started SHOOTING. Dolla was killed instantly. Aubrrey and his boys FLED THE SCENE.
Seems like an open and shut case of MURDER right . . . WRONG!! The jury acquitted dude, saying it was self defense. Here’s how the Associated Press is reporting it:
Jurors on Friday rejected prosecutors’ contentions that the killing of Dolla, whose real name was Roderick Anthony Burton II, was a callous act of apparent revenge.What in the . . .Burton and his accused shooter, Aubrey Louis Berry, had been involved in a fight at an Atlanta club less than two weeks before the shooting last May.
Berry hugged his attorney after the verdict was read while Burton’s family sobbed.
Berry’s attorney had contended the shooting was an act of self-defense, emphasizing that Burton glorified a violent gangster lifestyle in his rap lyrics and online videos.

I know aubrey aka AB, dude who killed dolla and he was not an LA goon. and he flew out to LA alone to meet with a club promoter and AB was from Atlanta not LA. they had gotten into a fight at club onyx a strip club in atlanta a few weeks before. in LA, Dolla and his crip gang members came into a resturant with AB who was meeting with a club promoter bc that was the work he did. AB was at the resturant b4 dolla ever got there. the promoter from LA told AB to leave the resturant b4 [EXPLETIVE] got bad. AB left and Dolla followed him into the parking lot. and u know the rest.

The killer was not a ''local goon'' he was an Atlanta resident and he is college-educated. Mto your so fu.ck.ing dumb. I can't believe people get a pay check for writing these stories. liked Dolla, here in LA, it’s an unfortunate loss. Usually when this happen (1 Black Dies, 1 Go 2 Jail) this is a lil diff w/ 1 coming home this time. But only god can judge the other person, 4 it is his place to forgive. These tanks would sometimes knock down a complete house of an innocent person who neighborhood was being run by gangs. Later to find out that the drugs were being targeted to the hood to fund covert operation over in Nicaragua, led by Regan- (Pres) and Bush Sr.- (Head CIA), so rebels can overthrow their Gov’mt and leader, Manuel Noriega. B cuz our hoods were being used 4 this, It caused rappers to become militant, “Gangster Rappers” who rapped about events that were taking place in “Da Hood”, in which crack originated and spread to ghetto’s in other states, seen as expansion of gangs and it’s bid’nezz it brought. Let's say I am in a parking lot and someone attacks me physically as I am getting in my car. I don't want to fight them but they start hitting me. If I turn around and *** them it would not be murder. Self defense is defending yourself against a threat upon your person. If you attack me I have a right to do what I need to in order to stop you. If you and 9 other people form a mob to jump me, I have a right to *** you if I feel my life is in danger. What I don’t have a right to do is fire a *** that successfully stops you from harming me, and then walking over and jumping up and down on your chest. If my first *** happens to kill you, that’s your tough luck….

Then the assailant turns to run as the trigger is being pulled. Self defense would be determined by how far away the assailant was when ***. If 10 feet it wouldnt be self defence b/c he is running away, if like in this case they are charging you and then they turn as you *** then it is self defense because you were in teh process of *** them WHILE they were attacking you.
