: It looks like another hip hop couple has called it quits. A well placed source has confirmed to MediaTakeOut.com that Ashanti and Nelly have separated.
According to the insider, the two have been apart for a few weeks now. And Nelly has reportedly already begun dating other people.
Ashanti, on the other hand, isn't taking the break up as well. The tipster tells MediaTakeOut.com, "Ashanti is really broken up over losing [Nelly] ... But her friends and family are helping her get through it."
And there may be a silver lining in it for Ashanti. Explains the tipster, "To get her mind off [the break up], Ashanti's been spending all her time working on music ... now she may even be able to release an album before year's end."
Life goes on nothing last forever. Ashanti was living and making it before she started dating Nelly, She will still live and make without Nelly. Ashanti just let four seasons past before you start dating again. Don't just jump out of one realatioship and and right back into another. Take some time for Ashanti and breath again. Nelly should do the same being in a realtionship does not define who you are, that is something that soceity want to dictate.
It's so funny that some of you people act like you know Ashanti or Nelly. Well you don't. They did make a cute couple and I wish them both the best. If it was meant to be it will be. I am not happy any time a nice black couple breaks up that's been together quite a while and even engaged like these two have been. This story is probably not even true--we all know MTO's rep for "truth." If they were not meant to be, then oh well they're bettter off and will live to love again. NEXT!! No we saw her screwing flavor flav. Did you watch the show? I saw her w/ busta too. And I found some pics of her w/another guy. Havent you heard about the tape. See the difference between my comment and the other peoples comments is that I make sure I see it before I judge it. No one actually saw Ashanti being a lil girl and people dont know if nelly hit it and quit they are just assuming,but i am not assuming that Delicious screwed flav I basically saw it. Why do folks act like it's impossible to know a celebrity on a personal level. They are people too and it is quite possible that they had a life before they were famous and interacted with everyday people, developed relationships and kept them once they became famous. Everything is not as far-fetched as yall try to make it...
Oh well. Look at what he did to my girl Kelly R. I thought they were a much cuter couple. Anywho...they both are good-lookin so it shouldn't be hard to bounce back. I always hear comments about "he/she can do better." Better than what? Someone's looks? There should be more underneath someone's features. The family use to tell a relative of mine the same thing, "girl, you can do better than that." That guy turned out to be a wonderful husband, father, provider and more than she could ever want so that phrase is played out unless you know what's underneath. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's why the Rick Fox's of the world are cheating; someone paid too much attention to his looks and not what was underneath.
We women are primarily emotional creatures and the idea of settling down is an eventual thought. Who wants to date someone for 15 years with no commitment? Who wants to date someone with another person on the side? Beyonce's career is on FIRE so why should she stop now to settle down, get married and have babies? She's only 25 and I wouldn't even consider marriage until close to 30, if I were in her talented shoes.
Now i know for certain that Nelly and I are soul mates, I just have to work on meeting him, considering i am so far, but i have hope.
I was literally heartbroken when i heard the news that they were engaged. Nelly, i have faith that i am the woman for you, i dont know why its just a feeling i have, yea you guys are saying that tons more women get that same feeling, but no this is different, I dont often get that feeling...........so nelly, I hope one day we can meet.
Nelly is not cute...he's aiiight...kinda looks like Stripe the Gremlin to me.....but he does dress nice.
As for Ashanti....sorry no more records hun...your voice is simply not strong enought to compete with the female artist of today.

Dang!!! If you feel THAT strongly about it, then I hope ya meet him. But you better bring your A+ game, cause these chicks in STL don't be playing. Just go to one of the MANY DerrtyEnt events that happen EVERY summer. One is a softball tournament they have every 4th of July weekend. I've met him a few times. He's pretty nice. It's weird how you wanna meet him so badly but can't. Yet, I really doesn't matter to meet either way, and I've meet Nelly and all the other St. Lunatics. LOL. Go figure.
Ashanti who?? HASBEEN She could NEVER stand on her own, the only reason she even has a memorable song is because there was always a rapper in her songs and she just got to sing the hook!! BTW, these black girls in the music industry really should try to go to school and graduate, cause assface cant string 4 words together
