: Mariah Carey's twins are less than two weeks old and ALREADY there is drama. Two days ago, CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES came to the hospital to visit Mariah Carey - to investigate a claim that she was drinking ALCOHOL while breast feeding.
But according to FOX News, it was all just a misunderstanding. Here's what he's reporting:
The civil servant told Cannon she was following up a claim of neglect, of all things. The specifics: Carey was accused of drinking and taking pain meds while breastfeeding!If someone made a FAKE COMPLAINT to child services, they need to be LOCKED UP!!Of course the real story was that a nurse on the floor had suggested Carey drink half a Guinness Stout in order to hasten production of breast milk. Mariah did just that and it worked. But someone in the unit sold her out, so to speak, hoping the social worker could get a picture of the babies for the tabs. Luckily no pictures were allowed.

I'm glad MTO actually told the correct story for once...pain meds while breastfeeding is common especially when you JUST GAVE BIRTH and the hops in some BEER not liquour can help with lactation; the nurse set her up because they knew it would make her look bad. I would suggest Mariah just use fenugreek from GNC from now on- she might smell like maple syrup but it works :D I would definitely be filing suit because some piece of [EXPLETIVE] violated patient privacy :] fire their ass and let a REAL health care provider step in.

Guinness is perhaps one of the healthiest alcoholic drink you could have. It is chocked full of vitamins and minerals, especially iron. She could substitute the Guinness for a Malta next time which is non-alcoholic with the same health benefits. How many of us were conceived by a drunken sperm or egg, maybe both..and we turned out just fine..dem babies will be alright. Let the woman be!
IDK, I could actually see this. I have a close friend who has worked in the entertainment industry for years as a publicist, and it is well known in celebrity circles that Mariah is an alcoholic. I agree this particular story sounds shady, but I know for a fact that she does have substance addictions.
I can believe this. Whether guiness works as a lactation stimulant or not is not the issue.. the issue is a mother decided to drink alcohol while breast-feeding..Hmmm.. I love mariah and her work but it seems she has a drinking problem. Always thought so.. She seems to be the functioning alcoholic so to speak. Shame on mariah for this if it's true.

@ Made-in-NY: NO! They never did that to put the babies to sleep throught the night! It would have killed the baby b/c of the caloric intake needs of a newborn/infant. Old Americans used to put a few drops in the bottle or rub it on the gums of a teething infant to soothe the pain, nothing strong enough to knock them out. The babies can't metabolize alcohol and could get alcohol poisoning.

Idiots a nurse recomended she drink a bit a guiness to help boost milk production as your supposedto breastfeed newborns 8-12 times a day for up to a half an hour at a time and not all medication can taint the milk as in some cases the molicules are too big to get into the milk nor is Mariah the first celeb to nurse twins Julie Bowen & Celine Dion both did/do also
Plenty of women with implants successfully nurse their kids Kourtney Kardashian comes to mind the silicone in breast implants can't leach into breast milk and a few ounces of beer isn't gonna hurt them babies either it helps the milk come in Mariah isn't the first celeb to nurse her babies and won't be the last
