: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Houston rapper Lil Flip was arrested for credit card fraud. With the charges filed, police are alleging that Lil Flip used a stolen credit card to purchase hundreds of dollars of merchandise.
And what "merchandise" was charged to the stolen credit card. Sources tell MediaTakeOut.com that the stolen cards were used to purchase gasoline, miscellaneous items of clothing and internet pornography.
Right now, it's not clear whether the pornography depicted gay or straight acts.
Lil Flip, whose real name is Wesley Weston, turned himself in to police yesterday afternoon. The 26 year old rapper was released on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court on Monday.
EDITOR'S UPDATE: According to the Houston Chronicle, the charges were filed in connection with a $671 airline ticket. The article made no mention of any other purchases that were attributable to Lil Flip <EDITOR'S UPDATE 2: Lil Flip's manager sent us this official statement.
According to Sandy Lal, Lil Flip’s attorney and manager, The charges against Lil Flip are complete nonsense and will quickly disappear. Flip had absolutely no involvement with any sort of credit card fraud. He never personally handles any travel arrangements, that is left to promoters and travel agents. Any wrongdoing of any sort is clearly in THEIR hands. It’s unfortunate that Flip was a victim to this charade and his name has been tied to this situation due to his celebrity status. Nevertheless, we are in the midst of negotiations for various ventures including a multi million dollar relaunch of his Lucky Nites cognac. According to Lil Flip's Houston criminal attorney, Stanley Schneider, Lil Flip nor anyone associated with him had any knowledge that a stolen credit card was being used by a person hired to arrange his travel. A complete investigation will easily show that Lil Flip is innocent of all charges and is actually a victim of a scam.
