: MediaTakeOut.com got a hold of pics from a fashion show for Ming and Aoki Simmons' new clothing line 'Ming & Aoki.' You knew it was only a matter of time before this happened...
These girls are just too cute, and the clothing line.....maybe. But how can you all judge just by looking @ two or three photos of the clothing? I bet if it had the word Baby Phat labeled all over it, yar asses will be pumping your fist, but since it's plain and colorful with no labeling on it, yar don't want it? Please it's not about the name, it's about the style and how you throw it on, besides it looks like these clothes will be in the high trendy boutiques rather than the average Macy's just look @ the ones modeling them. My point exactly!
And MTO yar are dead wrong with the assumptions about Russell, I hope he get @ yar for that, yar just took that Pimp C line and ran with it!
Kimora doesnt create ishh...My mom works with her and says she's a total bitch...She has a team of designers that do all the work and have all the visions...she looks through the fashions during fashion week, they then bring it to her and she says yes know or maybe and puts her name on it, so she can look well presented on the runway....to me that's not creation that's dictation...Creation is when she actually sits there and sketches it...The designers make all the clothes, the stylists put all the diffrent looks together, she says yes or no and then takes claim for it....
But the kids are so cute and I like that little trench coat...
LMAO at MTO with that pic of Russ and that comment!!!
(I still dont think that AOki (on the left) is his, but he claims her so then she is!!! :)
with remy and smurfette...... Cute girls but these clothes are awful! Folks kill me how they will rock anything as long as it's "HOT". I read a few remarks about walmart. Im gonna keep it real. I go to wal mart, target, k-mart and all the other budget stores. My daughter is 6 years old. I REFUSE to pay ridiculous money for clothes for her to play in. Mine isn't a fashion diva at 6. She plays in dirt and catches bugs and I love it. She will be 16 and wanting that stuff soon enough...no need to rush it.
But I do LOVE to see young sistas and brothers get a mind for the business world at a young age. we are seriously lacking schooling in economics in our community. I highly doubt that these two lil sistas have much creative controll but they are still going to be GIANTS just because of the influence of thier parents. Im not paying for either but Id buy thiers before the olson twins!!!!!! (Im lying I may get 1 or two outfits for "special occasions"...if they look better than this!)
I agree with judi4410
That doesn't just go for Kimora, it goes for Diddy, 50 cent, Jay-Z (before he sold Rocawear), even Mary-Kate and Ashley.
They are not designers, but a brand/name. Glad I don't put my money into these uncreative tasteless moguls.
To me the clothes are ugly. The colors are cute, but the styles are horrific. My daughter is 4 and would go off if I tried to put anything that was tight on her skin, i.e. those leggings.
@ sosincere
I so agree with you, I have a 4 yr old and trust me she has no idea what or who she's wearing so why go through the extreme of paying all this money for each and every outfit just so she can go play, however she's in preschool, and I sometimes have to put her on cute, photo ready clothes only b/c they take alot of pictures. But half the time, they are painting lol. Don't get me wrong, I do buy her a lot of name brand shiit, but I don't buy it for the name I buy it cause it's cute. I stay in Target, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. as well as Children's Place, Gap, Gymboree and Macy's. To me, it's all about looking cute and what your wearing not who your wearing.
My dude wont buy anything much unless it's black owned so he used to rock alot of phat farm. Of course I tried to do the same but had trouble cause I hated baby phat too. But he hipped me to the website and she actually has some nice stuff online. The baby phat in the stores is usually too teenagerish for me. But she has some nice designs online.
@Vanilla1 Thats how I am with mine. I wont lie and say Im ohhh so thrifty but I buy cause it's cute to me. Not cause it's brand name. I try to support black owned when I can but I have a hard time finding clothes for sistas by black designers because they are always making us look like tramps. And if you have a girl the stuff that they make for little girls is just as trampy as the stuff for adults. WHO WOULD PUT THIER 6 YEAR OLD IN TIGHT JEANS WITH APPLE BOTTOM ON THE BUTT?
Sorry but the clothes look cheap. The concept of these girls owning a piece of the line is nice, and they are real cutie pies, but the clothes look horrible. Just my opinion.
But I do like that they are trying to start these kids of young. Teach them how to manage money and invest in long term wealth.
They have a long way to go, to catch up those Olsen twins though. LOL
I like Baby Phat but its for younger women. I think its hot for girls in a certain age group. Late Teens /20 somethings. If all the ladies haven't learned by now from Kimora if you are going to be a Gold digger be an ambitious 1. Gotta luv that Kimora Lee. Shes going to put a cat on everything and put either her face on it or her kids face. She should teach classes on selfesteem and sell the tapes with a babyphat Logo on it.
I agree with some people. I don't think the clothes are cute. They're just very colorful. Then you know she's gonna have them ridiculously overpriced. I don't have a little girl, but if I did, I wouldn't run out and buy this mess.
However, I do buy brand name clothing for my son. I buy it because I think it's sooo cute. And he looks like a little man. My father gets so mad at me when he finds out the amount of money I paid for his clothing. He always said it's a waste of money because my son is only going to grow out of it. Which is true, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm not asking to borrow money from anybody to buy it, so I don't see the problem.
However, I don't buy all the Baby Phat for myself. I think it's for younger women or teenage girls. I'm not trying to rock a pair of jeans with designs and crap all over the booty area. I'm a grown woman and I want to look that way. I'm only 26, but I think I'm a little too old to be dressing that way. There's nothing worse, than seeing an old ass woman wearing young clothing.
@sweetness I understand that your making a little jokey joke but making references of your child getting stabbed is just a little bit disturbing i'm sure you could have come up with something other than what you said but anyhoo i do agree those clothes look like holloween wear cant have ur kids look like their going trick o treating everyday
Can you say "PUNKY BREWSTER"???? These girls aren't doing anything special in my eyes that Punky didn't do. I'm happy that they are making a clothing line for kids....I'm sure some people will go out and buy these clothes. And I'm SURE they will be over priced....that doesn't stop us black people from buying them.
I like quality regardless of the name. I think apple bottom jeans are gross. The quality of the material sucks. Phatfarm has good quality fabric and seanjean does too. I don't know...with the cost of everything going up and up these days I'm bout to start a new trend my damn self...LOINCLOTH! bring back the BC Look! sheesh!
Are you guys blind. Look at those clothes these kids are wearing. They look like cheap material. I found the bay Phat line to be cheap looking too many times. Look at her daughters green and pink tops that material looks so cheap. I hope the kids had fun modeling but this is not a cute kids line. Keep the price down but, don't get material that looks like .99 a yard
That ain't all that I have seen better.
@dimples428 I agree cause he always goes and gets them young girls. Look how old his new girl is. He will be lookin at his daughters in a few more years. LMAO @ mixed2beauty and whisperchill @Vanilla_one I agree I look for quality and cute clothes. I wouldn't let my children wear Apple Bottoms either b/c to me it is too sexual. I love Target's little girls clothes they are too cute. I like the Children's Gap, and Children's Place, TJ Maxx and stuff like that. JC Penny has cute girls clothes too.
Guys please give them a break! There kids I love the colors give me ideas for my daughter that was a cute fashion show it seems. I think Kimora and her kids put together a nice piece I think its different and cute for todays youth!
That's what kids need today clothes that are kid friendly and not adult style. I was shopping in the store one time and saw these clothes that were so revealing for young kids thats crazy. What kind of style is that? One minute we mad because the kids are dressing grown...Then we critize them when they dress like kids.
I don't get it....Stay young stay a kid plenty of time to dress slutty!
For all of you saying, you won't put another dollar in their pocket, or they will probably be to expensive, blahh, blahh, blahh, how much money have you put in the pocket of white clothing companies, and stores? Also for the individual who said they don't design, damn near none of them do, with the exception of some of the Italin designers who have an actual fashion background or degree in it, but to have a successful brand, you have to be able to pick the right pieces, just because you don't design it does not mean you don't have an eye for fashion, because if they pick garbage pieces to be produced no one will buy. Somehow I think black people are condemned to be jealous envious individuals. I wonder how we will ever progress, does anybody else ever wonder?
THESE CLOTHES ARE HORRIBLE. THEY LOOK LIKE THEY ARE EITHER GETTING READY TO COME OUT AND PERFORM FOR THE DISNEY SHOW OR THEY ARE GOING TO A DISNEY PRINCESS SLUMBER PARTY ALREADY DRESSED. I WOULD NOT PUT MY BABY DIVA IN NONE OF THIS JUNK. THESE CLOTHES WILL NOT SELL. THE ONLY ONES WILL BUY THEM ARE HER CORNBALL FRIENDS WHO WANTS TO KISS HER ASS CAUSE THAT'S ALL SHE WANT PEOPLE TO DO. THEY NEED TO CHANGE THIS WHOLE LOOK AND KEEP IT REAL LIKE BABYPHAT. SHE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT NO BLACK MOMS BUYING THIS JUNK FOR THEIR GIRLS.
