: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's show The Simple Life has just been canceled. Word is that the network execs received so much heat from last night's episode - where Paris and Nicole dressed up like "Black people" - that they pulled the plug on the show.

Nicole Richie....well I am guessing that she is at least part black...but for her to even participate in a blackface act like this with Paris (and not say anything) shows how clueless and lost she really is...

They were in an acting group. They were black people..

The only thing that shows like this accomplish is making it painfully obvious that stereotypes are apart of our everyday lives. The only way a non-black person can "act" black is by utilizing some of the things that they believe to be true about all black people AKA stereotypes. It's sad but true, and in some respects even funny, hence all these television shows depicting such events. People watch for a reason...
I'm not really offended by this, but Paris should've gone with curlier (mulatto)or kinky hair to be more convincing. She just looks like Farrah Fawcett (circa 1970's "Charlie's Angels")in that make-up.
I have no problem with Nicole since she's mentioned in several interviews that she considers herself black (Although not biologically black, she's still a woman of color, so it's the same to me). She was raised by Black parents, and on the strength of that, I'm sure she nor Paris were trying to be offensive.

Nicole is NOT BLACK- Pete Escovido Jr. is NOT her Dad. Nicole's mom is Mexican and her dad is Mexican or Spanish. On Trya's show in March Tyra asked her what is her nationality and and she said i like to call myself "Black" Nicole has absolutely "NO" Black in her. They reported that until last year Nicole listed herself as "White" on her drivers license.
