: A few months ago MediaTakeOut.com reported that Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa were facing marital problems. Well it now looks like a divorce is imminent.
We spoke with a person extremely close to Kobe Bryant, who claims that the 28 year old ball player is ready to put an end to his 6 year marriage. The insider tells MediaTakeOut.com, "They've been trying [to make things better] now for more than a year, but it's just not working out ... Kobe's in the process of moving out [of their home] and both are ready to officially end things."
But if you're expecting fireworks in the divorce battle - you might be disappointed. According to our inside source, Kobe and Vanessa will likely settle everything quietly. Our insider explains, "There's very little for [Kobe and Vanessa] to fight over. Since there was no pre-nuptial agreement, Vanessa's entitled to half the marital assets ... Besides, Kobe stands to make a lot more money in the years to come - and that will be all his."
During his professional career, Bryant is estimated to have drawn in close to $200M in earnings. And the superstar's future earnings look even brighter. The Lakers currently owe him $88.6 million in salary over the next four seasons. And he has a number of very lucrative endorsement deals - including one with $18M left on it from Nike.

I agree with Kobe's family. Kobe was early in his career and didn't need to try and marry a girl who was still in high school. The civil lawsuit also accuses Bryant of misconduct with other women. Some legal experts believe that the filing could cripple the criminal case against Kobe Bryant and could lead people to judge that the motives for the case are purely financial.
8/4/04: Statements from the prosecution team makes it appear that their case against Kobe Bryant may be falling apart. Additionally, the accuser may refuse to testify. Her attorney has mentioned the possibility of a civil suit against Kobe Bryant.
Kobe Bryant's *** assault trial has been set for Aug. 27, 2004. He is charged with allegedly assaulting a Colorado woman on June 30, 2004. She was 19 years old at the time of the alleged attack in a luxury hotel, the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera. The trial and juror selection process is expected to take three to four weeks.
Conviction would have meant four years to life in prison or 20 years to life on probation, and a fine of up to $750,000 for Bryant.

I know plenty of Latino men i grew up with who date BOTH black & Latin women and I dont know many latin women (who I grew up with as well) who get sooo upset at that. So what? Especially when u grow up and teh number of black women around you is about equal to the amount of Latin women around you. You interact with all of them and u find one u can really get close to and its a 50/50 chance of choosing either. Its only when it becomes routine for them to date an outside race exclusively does it appear that they have issues.
That being said, and from what I have read about them their HS was very mixed (black/latin) so of course there was a chance he woudl hook up w/ a non black female esp if he is open minded and not ignorant. And in my experiance when I meet a person, become friends with them and then find an attraction and connection it dont matter what race they are, I go with my heart.
