FRIEND: CARMELO'S NOT MARRYING LALA
****EXCLUSIVE****
September 19. When MTV VJ LaLa Vazquez and NBA star Carmelo Anthony got engaged nearly two years ago, most people were skeptical. With Carmelo only nineteen at the time, it was hard to believe that he was ready to make that kind of commitment. Now that LaLa has announced that she's pregnant, it would appear that the couple is finally headed down the aisle. But MediaTakeOut.com spoke to a friend of Carmelo's who says that Carmelo has no intentions of marrying the MTV beauty.
In an exclusive interview, Carmelo's pal described the up-and-down relationship that the baller has with LaLa. According to the friend, Carmelo and LaLa constantly fight over other women. The pal tells, "most women who deal with [NBA] players accept that there's going to be [groupies], but LaLa isn't like that." Our source went on, "she can't just play her position ... it's probably because she's older so she feels she can control him."
Carmelo's pal then turned to LaLa's announced pregnancy. In a stunning revelation, the ballplayer's buddy told MediaTakeOut.com that LaLa may be faking the pregnancy. The friend explained, "I saw LaLa the other day and she didn't look pregnant to me ... I think she might be saying that [she's pregnant] just so that they can get married." The hoopster's pal does concede, however, that a pregnancy wouldn't be all bad for Carmelo. The pal tells, "LaLa is a good person so I think she would make a good baby's mother ... I just don't think that [Carmelo] should marry her."
And the friend's story appears to be backed up by a number of photographs that MediaTakeOut.com has obtained. In the first photograph, which was taken when LaLa was supposedly four months pregnant, she looks slimmer than ever. A closeup of the same photo shows that LaLa is wearing the engagement ring on her middle finger - a telltale sign of a trouble. In the third picture, taken just a few days ago, the ring is noticeably missing from LaLa's finger altogether.
