But wait, a news anchor live in North Carolina reported very early this morning that Hillary had scheduled a meeting with Superdelegates today. Hmmmm.... I wonder why she would feel the need to do that?
She's also desperately trying to get those dismissed Florida and Michigan votes counted, and before someone says "but Obama doesn't want those votes counted", the Obama camp is agreeing to let her have those votes.
I don't want to be disappointed, SuperD's. I know a lot of you have personal ties to the clintons and some may pledge allegience, but you know what the country wants. The only reason why Hillary didn't lose Indiana was because of the Jeremiah Wright scandal. Not her policies, not her ability to beat McCain, not her ability to lead this country as Commander In Chief. Save the Wright speech, Obama would have done the same thing to her in Indiana, and they know it. |

It’s beyond time for HRC to make a graceful exit and be the “patriot” she claims to be. Her Indiana win was very slight and more likely a result of Rush Limbaugh’s “operation chaos”….exit polls revealed one in ten voters were conservative republicans, more than likely using their vote to stir up mischief in an open democratic primary. Deluding herself to believe this is some indication of her ability to win the general election is foolish. She may be willing to “risk” losing the white house to the far right….but the nation is not. Since the “flag” lapel pin has been an issue (distraction) early in this race…perhaps she should ponder the meaning of that flag and realize it’s not “just” about her. If she truly wants to be a “good” leader, she should set her huge ego aside and help the DNC rally around the winning nominee and begin undoing the divisions she cultivated. |

Yeah, but neither Barack nor Hillary will be able to get enough delegates to win the nomination unless some delegates who have already endorsed switched sides. That's not impossible, but it is unlikely. So now, regardless of what would happen in the next 6 states including Puerto Rico, it's up to the Superdelegates to decide who gets the nomination. |

Hilary is going to buy herself a presidency....
News broke this morning that Senator Clinton made three separate loans to her campaign in the past 30 days -- including one as recently as Monday. These loans total more than $6.4 million, which combined with her previous personal loans, add up to at least $11.4 million she's loaned her campaign since February.
A spokesman said she may continue to "loan the campaign additional money out of her jointly-held assets" -- which include more than $100 million in income since her husband left the White House.Meanwhile, by winning a double-digit victory in North Carolina and closing the gap in Indiana, Barack won another 100 delegates.
Barack Obama is now just 172 delegates away from winning the Democratic nomination. It's within sight.
This is a decisive moment in this race.
Barack has already won more votes, more delegates, and more than twice as many states as Senator Clinton, whose path to the nomination has grown extremely narrow. But these loans show that her campaign will continue to contest the remaining primaries vigorously.
We need to show that the voices of more than 1.5 million ordinary people donating whatever they can afford are more powerful than one person giving more than $11 million to their own campaign.

first of all... Lets put this thing to bed! NC is not SC. I'm a Yankee transplant here in Charlotte and this is a heavy GOP state! Believe me, lisa--- you could not have won NC, if I gave you a cool 5 mill and the ground troops to spread your message!
NC is a 115 delagate state. BTW--- Indiana has 75 delegates and basically its a state with one large city named Indianapolis and three suburbs; Cincy, (Ohio) Gary and Terra Haute, Did you know that Barack picked up Guam -over the weekend and that was about 3 delegates...?
HRC split the vote and won Indy by 3% pts. Everyone was saying that she would stomp Obama... So, hows that working? With the margin of victory... She'll take 40/75 and Barack will pull that 35/75 delegates from Indy... So a tie, or a narrow margined win for HRC is a definate win for the Waves of Change! We did our part here in NC! Besides--- you would say that we are nothing but a lotta transplanted hix anyway... At least our economy is still going strong... Unemployment is 4.9% up .02 pts over the last 8 months... Gas is at $ 3.55! And we have a Real Estate market that is on the upswing when everywhere else is in a tailspin. ANd finally, we have the #2 and #4 largest banks in the country--- still going strong!
So, peeps of NC --- STAND UP and ride the WAVES of CHANGE!

She lost hard in North Carolina, and barely held on to win Indiana. Hillary Clinton just doesn't have enough straws left to clutch. The best (or worst) she can hope to do the rest of the way is bloody Barack Obama enough to make him lose in the fall, allowing her to come back in 2012.
In fact, Obama basically clinched the nomination with his string of 11 straight primary and caucus wins in February, many by wipe-out margins — giving him a lead in elected delegates that Clinton couldn't hope to close, especially given the nutty proportional-representation rules that govern the Democratic Party.
Do the math. Last night's results leave him with a lead among elected delegates of 150 or so, and among all delegates of around 130.
Only a handful of states are left to vote, with a combined total of about 230 delegates. She'll probably win West Virginia, Kentucky, and Puerto Rico, and lose Oregon, North Dakota, and Montana. She most likely could pick up a net 10 delegates, leaving him with a lead of at least 130 (110, counting in superdelegates).
If Hillary manages to get Florida and Michigan seated (which she won't), she'll net another 47 delegates. So Obama, worst case, will have a lead of at least 60 delegates. Most likely, it'll be more than 100.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Democratic Chairman Howard Dean have all made it clear that they expect superdelegates to decide who to support within (in Reid's words) "days, not weeks" after the last ballots are cast on June 3.
In that environment, Obama — who'll be only about 100 delegates short of a majority — will be an irresistible choice. Few superdelegates will want to risk civil war by overruling the verdict of the voters, and almost all will want to climb aboard the victory bandwagon so as not to get shut out of the White House for four (or eight) years.
In the past few months, Obama has closed Clinton's lead among superdelegates from 60 to 20. The trend will accelerate after popular voting ends; he'll probably pass the 2,025 threshold in the first two weeks of June.
Clinton may stay in, hoping to can seat Florida and Michigan. But she won't win there, either.
The Credentials Committee, which will make the key report, consists of three votes for each state or territory. The remaining contests will leave him with, at worst, a 10-state lead. Howard Dean names 25 committee members, but she can't prosper unless he stacks them all for her, and, if anything, he'll go the other way.
Having lost there, her only option would be to appeal to the convention floor where neither of the contested delegations can vote on their own credentials, virtually assuring an Obama victory on the credentials fight and the nomination.
Clinton may well fight all the way; she's stubborn and dedicated. Moreover, she's farsighted and devious: She could hope to so bloody Obama that he can't beat John McCain. If McCain wins, she could get the Democratic nomination in 2012 and, with McCain closing in on 76 and after 12 years of GOP rule, win.
But one thing is clear: Obama has this nomination sewn up

I am very Proud of Barack Obama for his victory in North Carolina and only lost Indiana by 3% however I don't want to tear down either candidate though sometimes I'm tempted but I won't because all that is going to do is make it easy on John Mccain in the general election. Democrats please stop fighting amongst each other over Obama and Clinton and try to focus on coming together, I know it is a sour feeling when your candidate is not winning however we need to get past that and stand together. |
