I'm tired of these police stories too. Before people comment they need to know all of the evidence and "see" it too. Remember the Rev. Wright clips? Anything can be believed with a few clips and an incomplete story.
Gangsters going around with Uzi's and guns more powerful than the police and people have the audacity to blame EVERYTHING on the police officers. Well, I just read the story and what I get from it is that they pulled the suspects car over and pummeled them for a while. Two of the guys have a record and one doesn't. I don't know. If you don't do wrong you won't get done wrong but the cops didn't have to jump on em like that.
@focus....I don't let anyone shoot at me without return fire (I'm educated but I'm still a Gorilla). People need to know the laws and understand that they can protect themselves(especially in Philly). Waiting for the police to "save" you is like waiting on babies. The cops come around to take a report and clean up the mess. How many times have they actually "rescued" someone? Not many. I live in Irvington and am from Trenton and I've seen many people get hit(as recently as 2 weeks ago) and that's exactly what they did, came 45 minutes after my peoples bled to death.
Not to step on any toes but when are people gonna learn that we can't always sit around and wait for GOD almighty to come down and make it all better. You sometimes need to do what you have to do to protect you and your own. |

The problem with police is that they think they're above citizens us (and the law) so they don't wanna talk. They come to work with this "I'm up here and your down there" attitude. They don't foot or bike patrol anymore so there is no getting to know who's who in the community. Most are not even from our neighborhoods so they already have a preconceived notion of how "we" all are. |

I'm also a Philly resident and I also watched my beloved city become a cesspool of crime, murder, and violence. But the fact is, these three (actually 4, but one got away) THUGS shot a man right in front of the cops. I feel NO pity for them whatsoever. And to all the people saying "start shooting back", that is beyond ignorance. When one of you untrained, sideways-gun-holding, couldn't hit the broadside of a barn urban cowboys explodes a little child's head while "shooting back" at cops or baddies, what will you say then? It amazes me that most people didn't have a damn thing to say when hundreds of black men died last year but are plenty vocal when three get their asses kicked. to me that reinforces the notion that we're happier bitching about problems than actually trying to solve them. Mayor Nutter is not an "Uncle Tom" because he imposed stop and frisk, he's just trying to make the streets safer for your ungrateful asses; Something the last CRIMINAL we had in office couldn't care less about. Here's an idea, why don't some of the geniuses criticizing Nutter post their brilliant ideas of how to make the streets of Philly safer? I'm sick of all the whining about how others don't care about us when we don't care about our damn selves. A fool can rape and murder a baby but if you saw it, you'd better not tell or that's snitching. However, when Nutter announced stop and frisk, I really didnt give a fukk, cause I aint up to no dirt. Some of these dummies actually think that [EXPLETIVE] is real to point a gun at a cop. Nice to hear the real news from the above posts. I only saw bits of it on the NY news and was wondering why the police were so riled up.
I must say though that the stomping was a bit excessive. The police are in the right to rough them up a little during the arrest but after they gain custody the beatdown should cease.

I can call the police where I live and they're here in nano-seconds. That's what my taxes are for. I do know people who talk about living in communities where the police don't care like the people don't care. That community is not for me.
