Pushing a law that requires poor people who can't afford their rent, to purchase health insurance is disastrous. THERE IS NO PUBLIC OPTION...NO UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. Will not bring down cost, ppl with pre-existing condition and uninsured money funding will run out in 2012. This bill does not limit insurance company rate hikes. Private insurers continue to be exempt from anti-trust laws, and are free to raise rates without fear of competition in many areas of the country.

decent healthcare coverage because VA is allowed to bill my private insurance, as is medicaid (that my son gets from his mother)so I end up having to pay $500 a month for insurance and still have to come out of my pocket for medical bills. Is this Healthcare bill going to change that? No... My husband makes a lil less than me. He and my stepchildren are all covered under my insurance policy. BUT: He is still required to carry separate insurance through his GOV'T job. Why is that? because the GOV'T has it set up that way, to ensure the insurance companies are getting as much money as possible.
Lets add in the child support system.. Eventhough the children are covered under medicaid by their mother AND under my private insurance, the DSS still requires that he has the children on his insurance too. $$$$$ all for insurance companies and still insuficient coverage.
