The story on this just says; she influenced the scholarships towards her family members. Others still got privileges; this lady was going to make sure her family got in also.

WOMAN GET YOUR SHYT TOGETHER!! This is a problem with black folks helping their people and not wanting to see other black folks, besides family members, succeed. Most of these politicians are crooked.
I remember a few years back when the nephew of then Attorney General John Ashcroft, of the Bush administration, his nephews were arrested for growing 60 pots of marijuana. That should have landed him in federal prison, but he got off with probation. During probation the nephew was tested positive for drugs and still remained free. It was reported that Ashcroft was sentenced to three years in the Missouri Department of Correction for a class C felony involving more than 35 grams of marijuana. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for three years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service, which he served.
I can't even co-sign what this person has done. She's not only is she crooked, but her ass is a liar too.
She not only gave to her family, but they didn't even live in her district, they lived in a Republican district.Then she disrespects young people in her district who are just trying to make their life better by going to college,by saying there wasn't enough qualified applicants in her district. But she doesn't even publish that there is scholarship money.
Then, the CBO spends less money on scholarships, and more money goes towards them holding gala's where they mingle with lobbyists
Black people have to be the only racse of people that will vicitimize their own people and offer no help whatsoever to those trying to work to be in a better place.
The Congressional Black Caucus is useless and this is why people shouldn't wait for help, because it aint coming. Do for yourself and don't wait for some politician do for you.
I'm all for getting rid of the whole Congressional Black Caucus...I'm tired of hearing about organized groups who are suppose to help and represent Black people messing up and further perpetuating stereotypes. And many of them are supposed to be intelligent,but they always prove wrong. Whether its the NAACP,BET,many HBCU's and black sororities and fraternities,etc...Even Al Sharpton,Rev. Jesse Jackson,and all those black congressmen that have been in trouble lately.

I'm glad you agree with me on everything. The reason why I don't listen to that "Obama doesn't help black people out" sh.it is because you should be doing for yourself. If you can't help yourself, how do you expect someone else to do it for you?
Disappointed, but not surprising, to hear people say "Whites do it too, so it's okay." This woman represents a black district. She is screwing over other blacks who might need this scholarship money to help better themselves. These people that need it don't have a grandmother, or friend, who just happens to be a congresswoman like her grandkids who she gave the money to.
Stop co-signing the sh.it that blacks do, just because whites do it as well. Is that what you're gonna tell the single mother, the hard working black man, or the kid who busted his ass to get good grades and go to college.

you are on a roll today. i agree with your last post too. now, why did you reference me about ""Obama doesn't help black people out?" have you ever heard me say that? i think you've been listening to gump for so long you think we're all masks. for the record, i don't play that special interest game. i believe strongly in ideas that benefit society as a whole. i think it's a slippery slope when we cater to "groups" eg. gays, blacks, women, immigrants, unions, jews, short people, ugly people, whites, hispanics, and so on. i'm for big picture items like, very limited governmental powers, lower taxes, states rights, strong natl. defense, school choice etc. i support a woman's right to choose except for partial birth abortion. i don't care what consenting adults do in the bedroom and i don't think much about same sex marriage. those are some of my thoughts and i have no idea know why i'm sharing so much with you this evening. :-)

Now you know that was just a typo. You have seen me critisize the Dems many times...Especially on immigration.
But see, this is the difference in us, I DO critisize when it is appropriate. That is something you just never do with the Republicans.
And on this issue, It's not even the Democrats as a whole, just this particular congresswoman as well as the CBC I'm critisizing.

I hope that MTO has a post tomorrow on the 3 Republicans who are under further investigation for giving away their vote on financial reform for money contributions.
But they probably won't because it would probably go over the head of most of these readers, and I doubt any Republicans would be here to defend it.
